Tethered, 2008 by Rachel Gross
Between the two, 2009 by Graham Guy-Robinson
In Situ (Northern Print), 2009 by Barton Hargreaves
The work selected for exhibition must be available from September to November 2011.
Delivery and framing
The delivery of the work to and from the exhibition is the responsibility of the artist. Framing or mounting of works, if required for exhibition, is also the responsibility of the artist and must be carried out prior to delivery. However, where possible we will support artists with both the delivery/return and framing of artworks from overseas. Works not requiring framing or mounting must be suitably protected to avoid damage in transit and clear indication should be given as to how the work could be presented. For works that require particular installation, the organisers will consider contribution to the artist’s travel costs on an individual basis.
Insurance
Works selected for exhibition will be insured by the venues. However, artists are advised to insure their works in transit to and from the exhibition venues.
Sale of works
Works selected for exhibition may be for sale. A 40% plus VAT commission will be levied on all works sold during the exhibitions or directly as a result of the International Print Biennale both at the exhibitions and on the website. Artists must make sure that the sale prices they give include the commission and VAT.
Return of works
During each of the exhibitions the artists will be contacted by the organisers to make arrangements for the collection or return of their work if unsold.
Photography and copyright
The artist will allow the work to be photographed and reproduced by the International Print Biennale for the purposes of promoting the project including catalogue, press and publicity, websites and the IPB e-commerce site (if work is for sale) in all territories. Copyright of all works remains the property of the artist. Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the artist.

Background
The International Print Biennale was created in 2009 by Northern Print as the first major project in the UK for 20 years concentrated on the diversity of contemporary printmaking. The aim is to reward and promote excellence through showcasing the very best in new British and international printmaking through an extensive programme in Newcastle Gateshead of exhibitions, events, activities and an international symposium. With over 95,000 visitors this inaugural Biennale was a huge success and they are now delighted to announce the 2nd International Print Biennale.
